Onlne Camp Calendar

Dear Parents,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and good spirits. As the cold weather seeps in and we are knee deep in snow, we dream of warm summer days spent joyfully with friends.

Here at the Jewish ELC, we are busy thinking about the not too distant summer and we’d like to tell you about our plans for the summer of 2017! While studying is important, and we spend the whole school year working hard on our academics, the summer is all about friendship, sports and fun!

Welcome to the Gan Israel Summer Program! Gan Israel is a summer program dedicated to enriching the lives of all children from diverse Jewish backgrounds and/or affiliations. Under the supervision of experienced, loving and caring staff that are carefully chosen from all over the country, Gan Israel gives the children a great summer experience, while at the same time, instilling a healthy dose of Jewish pride! Our small staff/child ratio guarantees that children receive individualized attention, according to their needs, in a warm and nurturing environment.

This summer, Gan Israel will have 2 divisions: Mini Gan and Junior Gan. The younger Mini Gan division is for toddlers (children ages 15 months-entering Nursery in Sept. 2017). Our youngest campers will enjoy their first taste of camp and outdoor recreation in our new JELC location at 2174 Hewlett Ave, with an expansive, fenced in and shaded garden, playground, and water play area along with a beautiful, airy and sunlit, air-conditioned classroom.

The older Junior Gan division for nursery & pre-k (children entering Pre-K and Kindergarten in Sept. 2017) will also be held at our new JELC location at 2174 Hewlett Ave, where they will enjoy a fantastic indoor and outdoor recreation experience in our beautiful air-conditioned classrooms with a large brand new, state-of-the-art playground, basketball court and bike riding area.

Both divisions will have many exciting and fun-filled activities for the children, including special visitors who teach the children various skills, such as drumming, yoga, music, martial arts and sports. In addition, both divisions will enjoy walking trips to the Little Gym, and the 2 playgrounds and/or fields at Chatterton throughout the summer. Trips to some of Long Island’s finest attractions for young children will also be included!

The Junior Gan division will also have swimming lessons throughout the summer. Both divisions will enjoy kosher and nutritious snacks and hot lunch!

As always, feel free to contact us with any questions or comments you may have, as your feedback is important!

Sincerely yours,

Chanie Kramer Adina Gunsburg
