Dear Parents,

Welcome to Gan Israel Day Camps of Merrick!  We are looking forward to an exciting, safe, and fun-filled summer! We have included many important items in this e-package. Please take the time to review all the information and complete all the forms, so that you and your child will be fully prepared for Summer 2023!

Camper orientation will be held on Tuesday, June 27th. Families with last names beginning with A-K should come from 4:30-5:00 pm and families with last names beginning with L-Z should come from 5:00-5:30 pm. This is a time for you to meet your child's counselors, familiarize yourself and your child with camp procedures and drop off a change of clothes & anything else that needs to stay at camp (see parent handbook for a list).

We will have staff around to assist with finding your child's bunkroom.

As you will read in the parent handbook, we have partnered with Brightwheel, an all-in-one child care app to help you stay connected to your child throughout the day. You will be required to complete daily health screenings on your app at drop-off each morning, along with checking in your child. You will receive an invitation to join our brightwheel account soon! Specific camp information and policies are included in this booklet.  This information also lists the items you should send to camp.  Please read through it carefully so that camp policies and camp information are thoroughly understood. 
 

A  complete menu is enclosed with all the delicious Kosher lunches & snacks listed. If you have any concerns, please reach out to Jessica at [email protected].
 

We have been hard at work planning an action packed schedule for the summer! Our 8 week calendar is still in the final stages of preparation. Check back on the above link over the next few days as it will be uploaded there. Stay tuned for lots of fun and excitement to come!

 

If your child is age three and younger, please complete this form.
 

An updated Medical statement is required for our records. No camper is allowed to attend camp without this!  If you have already submitted it, thank you! If not, please send it in by Tuesday, June 6th so we have enough time to review it and update our allergy lists.
If your child has any special health concerns, please let us know as soon as possible.
 

On this form, please list all those authorized to pick up your child. 
 
7. Permission Form

We require signed permission from parents for various items related to the care of your child at camp. Please sign each section of the form that is related to your child.
 

Our camp is licensed by the Nassau County Dept. of Health. This brochure gives you more details on the health and safety guidelines we follow.
